Wednesday, July 20th – 6:30pm to 9pm
Basic DSLR Camera – Mel Carll instructor (Part 2 of a 3 part workshop)
This 3 session workshop will focus only on the camera. We will start session 2 where we left off in session 1 with a review, then on to depth of field, lens selection, exposure compensation, white balance and composition. This is a hands-on class, please bring your DSLR camera to class. This class is not geared toward point and shoot cameras. Part 1 will be held on 7/13 and Part 3 on 7/27/2011)
Saturday, July 23rd - 9am to 11am
Intermediate DSLR Camera – Mel Carll instructor (Part 2 of a 3 part workshop)
Today we take our photography to the streets. That’s right, no indoor class today as we head outside. Join Mel as you take everything you have learned and head outdoors and start taking photographs, not just snap shots. Today we will focus on composition, lighting, exposure and just having fun in the field. Please bring your camera, tripod, charged batteries, memory cards and your sense of adventure. Dress comfortably. (Part 1 will be held on 7/18 and part 3 on 7/25/11.)

We will talk more about composition, types of photography and how each type requires a different thought process. This is a hands-on class, please bring your DSLR camera to class. Have you ever wanted to make a book showing off your photography? Have you wanted to do a photography project, but just didn’t know where to start? Join Ted and learn how to prepare an in-depth photo shoot on a single subject and then create a self-published book or portfolio of that project.

We will start session 3 with a review of the assignment, sort out the mysteries and then dive back into the camera. Other topics will include color space, exposure controls, bracketing, flash and whatever else time permits. So bring in that camera and let’s get down to what makes it work. This is a hands-on class, please bring your DSLR camera to class. This class is not geared toward point and shoot cameras. (Part 1 will be held on 7/13 and part 2 on 7/20/2011).
Friday, July 29th – 6:30pm to 9:30pm (You may stay later if you chose)
Night Photography and Location Shoot – Mel Carll instructor $89 for workshop and admission
Tonight is all about photography and learning what to do under a very different condition. Yes, a balloon festival full of balloons, color, people and excitement. Join Mel as we meet on location in Santa Paula. We will first get together for a brief discussion about the event, venue, camera settings and what to expect. Then, it is photography. Join us a we capture the excitement of a local festival, the colors and then learn how to change our settings as it gets dark. This is a hands on workshop so please bring your camera, tripod, cable release and a sense of adventure.
