AUGUST 2012 WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
Wednesday, August 8th - 6:30pm to 9pm
Basic DSLR Camera – Mel Carll, instructor $159 for all 3 sessions (Part 1 of a 3 part workshop)
This 3 session workshop will focus only on the camera. We will start session 1 at the beginning with camera modes, aperture, shutter, and ISO, what these mean, and where they are on your camera. We will also discuss how they work together to create the photos you are looking for and then talk about what to work on during the days between sessions. This is a hands-on class, please bring your DSLR camera to class. This class is not geared toward point and shoot cameras. (Part 2 will be held on 8/15 and Part 3 on 8/22/2012).
Monday, August 13th – 5pm to 7pm
Epson Printer Demo Evening – David Saffir and Mel Carll FREE
Come join us tonight for a full scale demo of the Epson 3880 printer, which can handle prints up to 17×22. We will be printing from Photoshop, in color and black & white. Most of the evening focus will be creating 8.5×11 sample folio prints for you. We will also have some samples of folios as well. Note that the demo printer is available for sale, so don’t forget to inquire on the special deal during the evening. We will also be raffling off a DataColor SpyderCube color management tool, but winner MUST BE PRESENT. Please RSVP so that we know you are coming as we need minimum 6 people for this event.

Basic DSLR Camera – Mel Carll, instructor (Part 2 of a 3 part workshop)
This is a hands-on class, please bring your DSLR camera to class. This 3 session workshop will focus only on the camera. We will start session 2 where we left off in session 1 with a review, then on to depth of field, lens selection, exposure compensation, white balance and composition. This is a hands-on class, please bring your DSLR camera to class. This class is not geared toward point and shoot cameras. (Part 1 will be held on 8/8 and Part 3 on 8/22/2012).

Basic DSLR Camera – Mel Carll, instructor (Part 3 of a 3 part workshop)
We will start session 3 with a review of the assignment, sort out the mysteries and then dive back into the camera. Other topics will include color space, exposure controls, bracketing, flash and whatever else time permits. So bring in that camera and let’s get down to what makes it work. This is a hands-on class, please bring your DSLR camera to class. This class is not geared toward point and shoot cameras. (Part 1 will be held on 8/8 and part 2 on 8/15/2012).
Wednesday, August 29th - 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Basic Lightroom 4 and Image Editing – Mel Carll, instructor $79
Adobe Lightroom 4 was just released this month, and is a program that is a dream for digital photographers. This workshop will cover 4 of the 7 modules of Lightroom, with the main focus on the Library and Develop modules. Mel will cover importing and managing your files, photo editing and color correcting, using and creating presets, synchronizing between images, exporting and finishing in Photoshop, creating a slideshow and printing. We will also send some time looking at the new features of Lightroom 4. Then we will get into actually editing images during the last hour of the workshop. Please bring 1 image, and Mel will import that image into Lightroom. Then Mel will go though the editing process to get a final image ready for printing. You may bring a computer, but it is not required.
