Tuesday, December 1st – 7pm to 9pm
Holiday Gifts – David Green instructor, $25
Whether you are a photographer, or just have a photographer in your life, David has done all the research to fill you in on the coolest gifts for this holiday season. Starting with $10 stocking stuffers to the newest cameras (with an emphasis on the $25-100 range), find out what to get for those hard-to-buy-for people on your list. From gadgets, to books, to essential gear, to cool things you can make from your photos, this workshop covers it all.
Wednesday, December 2nd – 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Composition and Inspiration – Ted Dayton instructor $59
Ted will discuss his philosophical approach to image-making, combined with time-tested principals of photographic composition to help you develop your own vision. He will cover effective shooting tips and provide you with a fun list of self-assignments to get you thinking about photography in ways you haven’t before. Feel free to bring three digital images and get comments from Ted in this inspiring and unique look at the making of great photos.
Thursday, December 3rd – 7pm to 9pm
Easy Portrait Retouching with Professional Results – Ron Brewer instructor $59
Learn to retouch your portraits with professional looking results. And you can do it fast and easy, using the Portrait Professional retouching software as either a Photoshop plug-in or as a standalone program. We will show you how to use the program and you can bring your laptop to retouch a photograph during the workshop with an image provided by Ron, or if you prefer, you can bring your own image. Tips will be shared which are not found in the manual.

Friday Night Foto Jam – $5
Come hang out with your fellow photographers in a casual atmosphere and bring your laptop! We will layout tables, chairs and power strips. Work on images; help others. We will have music and light snacks as well, so come join us for a casual evening of fun, photos, and camaraderie.

After the Shoot! The Basics of Digital Workflow – Dan Holmes instructor $89
Digital Cameras take millions of nice photos. What do you do with all of them? How do you edit them, store them, protect them, and show them? Most of all, how do you find them? This workshop covers “What happens after the shoot.” Topics will include digital workflow, photo editing, naming, cataloging and showing. We will work examples through the full process, with presentations, discussion and demonstrations. This workshop will be beneficial for photographers that would like to learn more about “DAM” – Digital Asset Management (as in “Where did I put that @#$% photo?) It won’t be simply a photo editing class, but we will use Adobe Lightroom, PhotoShop and Microsoft’s Expression Media during the course of the day to help you get, and stay organized.

Legal Principals for Photographers – EXPANDED – Tony Zinnanti, Esq. instructor $89
The Legal Principles for Photographers Workshop delves into several areas of law with which any working photographer should have familiarity. This workshop covers the laws of copyright protection, public domain, privacy and releases, news gathering, defamation and First Amendment rights and limitations. This five hour workshop is taught by a practicing attorney/photographer and centers on the realities of the legal system with regard to the concerns of photographers. In addition to the substantive areas covered, the workshop instructs on dealing with lawyers, guidelines for avoiding litigation, an overview of the legal system and realistic expectations should one find them self in a formal legal dispute.
This workshop provides sample forms for copyright registration and releases, as well as images and primary sources of law.

Introduction to PhotoShop Elements – David Green instructor $59
Photoshop… It’s expensive, it’s complicated, and, did I say it was expensive? Why not try Adobe Elements instead? Find out how this inexpensive program can do most of what a photographer needs, at a fraction of the cost of Photoshop, in a much simpler interface. If you don’t already own Elements, download the free trial at www.adobe.com. Please bring your laptops for this workshop.
Thursday, December 10th – 6pm to 9:30pm
Portrait and Fashion Photography with Ring Flash, David Green instructor $129
A secret weapon of fashion photographers for the last several years has been the ring flash. Once an expensive tool for pros only, recent products have made it affordable for mere mortals (under $400). With a unique look all its own, this special light can completely transform your shooting style. We will bring in a model and makeup artist for the lab portion of this workshop, so you will learn how to balance and control the ring flash, as well as how to use modifiers to turn it into a fantastic portrait light, in real-world conditions. NOTE: This workshop is subject to cancelation if we do not reach minimum class size of four students! Please bring your camera, as this is a Hands-on workshop.

Tools of the Trade – Taking your Photography and Business to the Next Level – David Saffir instructor, $109
Learn how to setup your environment to get the most out of your photography. We will talk about your physical environment, ergonomics, lighting, display/monitor selection. Next we go into getting the most out of your inkjet printer. Understand the camera to printer workflow, including selecting a printer, getting accurate color previews to printing an image. We will talk about troubleshooting, print correction and archiving. Lastly, we will talk about matching media for client needs, media types for social photography, and fine art prints, including dealing with galleries and fine art organizations. Participants are encouraged to bring a high resolution digital file to print as a fine art print.
