Come join your fellow photographers in a casual atmosphere and bring your laptop! We will layout tables, chairs and power strips. Work on images, help others with images, get help and a second, (or third!) opinion, listen to music and munch on some light snacks or just chat with friends.

Glamour & Fashion Live Photography Shoot – David Saffir instructor $249
This class will be a hands on experience working with live models and conducting a fashion shoot. The morning will start with the pre-shoot prep, choosing a look, hair/makeup considerations, lighting and then shooting. The afternoon will be working the images made in the morning shoot, including editing, special effects, finishing the images, client presentation and printing. Bring your camera and laptop as this is a hands on workshop. Class size is limited.
Sunday, Sept. 13th – 9am to 4pm
Outdoor Location Portrait Photography – Tony Zinnanti instructor $119
Learn how to work the portrait photography on location. This will be a hands on class using various types of outdoor lighting, including ambient, strobes and small flash. We will discuss filters, reflectors, scrims, fill flash, macro flash, shadows, equipment choices and which lenses to use when. Bring your camera as this is a hands on workshop.
Tuesday, Sept. 15th – 7pm to 9pm
Composition and Inspiration – Ted Dayton instructor $49
Ted will discuss his philosophical approach to image-making, combined with time-tested principals of photographic composition to help you develop your own vision. He will cover effective shooting tips and provide you with a fun list of self-assignments to get you thinking about photography in ways you haven’t before. Feel free to bring three digital images and get comments from Ted in this inspiring and unique look at the making of great photos.

This class will dive into the legality of artistic and documentary expression as it pertains to defamation and invasion of privacy in public and private settings. We will examine the leading court opinions in the areas of First Amendment protection and restraints. Find out where you stand before you take that shot!

Photoshop 101, The Basics – David Green instructor $99
New to Photoshop? We’ll start at the very beginning from viewing images in Bridge, to opening an image, basic editing, layers, adjustments, brushes, shortcut keys and more. We’ll examine the Camera RAW processor and learn why even jpegs can benefit from its power. To get the most from this workshop, bring a laptop with Photoshop CS4 installed (not required). A 30 day free trial is available at Adobe.com NOTE: this class will not review any aspects of Elements or Lightroom.

Ted’s Keys to Photo Success – Ted Dayton instructor $59
Come spend an evening with Inside SCV magazine photographer Ted Dayton as he shows you his 10 keys for shooting great pictures and 10 keys on how to use Photoshop like a pro. Bring your camera as we learn about lenses, shutter speeds, apertures and setting the correct color space. We will also learn to decipher that histogram and understand when to use various shoot modes.

Hot Car and Motorcycle Live Photo Shoot – David Saffir instructor $179
Have you always wanted to shoot a Porsche or Harley, but don’t own one? Well today is your day, as you learn how to shoot that hot car or motorcycle in a studio setting. Both a Porsche and Harley will be on site for this hands on class! We will work with different lighting ideas as you learn to conduct that studio shoot. Bring your camera and laptop to process some of those images, and time permitting, print on the in-house HP Z3100 large format printer. Class size limited!
Sunday, Sept. 27th – 9am to 4pm
Close-up and Macro Photography – Ron Brewer instructor $119
Today is all about close-up and macro photography and getting close to bring out the detail of your subject in this hands on class. We start with a demo of macro photos and how the shot happened, showing both before and after the edits. We will then discuss the setup including background considerations, selection of subject, lighting ideas and options, camera setup and getting the close-up image. Next we break out to live shooting and apply what we have learned. We will have a variety of macro subjects/sets to shoot, practice and ask questions. After lunch, we work on editing those images in Photoshop learning a few new ways to process macro images. Bring you cameras and laptops with CS3 or CS4 loaded as the demonstrations will be in Photoshop. You will end the day with some great new macro shots to add to your portfolio.
