Introduction to Photoshop Elements 8.0 – David Green instructor $69
YOU PROBABLY DON’T NEED PHOTOSHOP! Really. If you just need to do basic retouching and cleanup, you can save money and time learning this simpler, easier version of Photoshop. Elements is not “dumbed down.” It just takes the most important features of the full version of Photoshop and puts them into a simpler package. This three-hour workshop explores the most important features of Elements and how to make them work for you. You are welcome to bring your laptop and follow along, but it is not required.

Wednesday, September 15th – 6:30pm to 9:30pm ( LIMITED TO 5 STUDENTS)
Picture Paramedic - David Saffir instructor $69
Are some your pictures flat lining? Do you have some images that you just know would look great with a little TLC? Are they flat or tired, or just yearning to breathe free? Well, come to Picture Paramedic, where we’ll go through a series of student’s selected images, fixing, patching, retouching, coloring, and sometimes – transplanting! Each student can submit 2-3 images prior to class, and the instructor will choose one or two to be restored to vibrant health! (This is optional – I have plenty of images that need fixing!) We’ll limit the number of images developed so each one gets the time it deserves. At the end of the class, each student will get the full-sized Photoshop files with all layers for their use. Another benefit of the class is that you’ll have an opportunity to see how images from other photographers are tuned up, which will also broaden your Photoshop skills. So get busy, look through your library for those pesky photos that just won’t cooperate, and bring them to Picture Paramedic! We’ll see you there!

Color Correction 101 – Imagine the Possibilities! – David Saffir instructor $69
We all have images that could use a color tweak or two. Perhaps images shot in mixed lighting, outdoor portraits that have a tinge of green from overhanging trees, or images that are just don’t have the color saturation we’d like. Now imagine that most of these issues can be solved with carefully selected, efficient techniques in Camera RAW and Photoshop! And as a bonus, learn how to manage your image captures to head off some of these problems – particularly in artificial lighting.
Some of the high points:
- Correcting a single color cast, such as blue from open sky, using just one click in Camera RAW, or for tougher cases, using two menu choices in Photoshop
- Do you have individual or group portraits where skin tones are giving you trouble? Learn how to get the best possible color from your current image files, and how to set up photo sessions in the future.
- Do you have landscape images that just look flat and unappetizing? Learn how to get better color saturation, tone separation, and contrast with a “hidden” tool in Photoshop.
- There’s much more, including preparing your images for inkjet or lab printing – and in the process, eliminating some ugly surprises.
Your web photos will work, your prints will pop, and you’ll have learned techniques that will get you away from your computer, and back to shooting! Sign up early, as we limit the class to ten students.
